Living Room Refresh
Many of us have lovely rooms and nice things but sometimes furniture arrangement gets us stumped. This living room is shaped like a bowling alley and most of the furniture was placed at one end. Also, the client's ultra modern TV seemed a little out of place in the classic surroundings. A few changes transformed the space. An ottoman was brought in from another room, a new settee made from repurposed chairs came in and the furniture was rearranged. These changes made the room feel cozy and more balanced.
Beautiful room with most of the furniture all on one end of the room.
The opposite end of the living room got a face lift by adding a shelf above the window, resting on gold leaf brackets that hold a window scarf which disguises the top pleats of the drapes. The other windows in the room have cornices above them. This gives some importance to the top of this window and balances the action at the opposite end of the room. Some vintage marble lamps added much needed lighting to the space. The television disappears when not in use by placing a folding screen in front, matching the one at the opposite end of the room. These were also the client's and needed some repair.
A few simple changes and some budget friendly pieces like the chandelier, window shelf and settee transformed this room. Call me today at 814.934.8928 if you are struggling with furniture placement and your room needs a face lift. It costs less than you think!
