Little Girl's Room Update

Recently I was honored to update a little girl's room.  The furniture was the homeowner's when she was a little girl and now is using it in her daughter's room.  Sturdy furniture with gold accents had yellowed over the years, and a new, brighter look was desired to update it.

The top pictures show the old finish with the gold trim.  Note the center detail of the low dresser.  In the bottom pictures, you can see that the center detail was painted over for a cleaner look.  The pulls were changed to silver and various paint treatments were done on the dresser using Dixie Belle Chalk Paints, sold at LaVintage Decor Studio.  The new color of the dressers is Buttercream, and the borders around the tops and on the fronts of the dressers were treated to a two part Metallic Silver paint.  The detail on the legs was accented with Hi Ho Silver Glaze.  The medallions on the bottom skirt of the dressers were treated with Shine, in Silver.  Shine is a Dixie Belle product that is much like gold leaf.

The dressers are a match with the crib now.

A old mirror that had stickers on it got a makeover to match the rest of the furniture.  The wood Dixie Belle applique , also sold at LaVintage Decor Studio was applied to the top of the mirror and given the Silver Shine treatment.

So there you have it, a few updates with paint and existing furniture will provide enjoyment for another generation.
